Hull’s Big Malarkey Festival celebrates children’s books and stories by welcoming writers, poets, cartoonists, artists, illustrators, musicians and performers to take over East Park for the weekend.
Join Concerteenies in the Little Larkey’s tent for a musical relaxation workshop for 0-5s at 11am. Concerteenies will be performing the musical story of ‘Blown Away’ at 4pm in the Big Top:
‘Penguin Blue and his friends are in for a surprise! It all starts with a windy day and a brand new kite… Come fly away with Penguin Blue as he gets caught in a gust of wind and the adventure begins.’
Kathryn Williams (flutes) and Polly Ives (narrator) perform new music by Paul Rissmann based on the book by Rob Biddulph. Vic Craven’s illustrations bring the book to life on the big screen! With fun actions and songs to join in with and a relaxed and friendly environment, this is a perfect introduction to music, animation and storytelling.
The Big Malarkey Festival, Hull's first ever children's literature festival, is brought to you by Hull Libraries and funded by the James Reckitt Library Trust and Arts Council England.
