The pilot performances of Concerteenies’ five new Musical Stories are all available to view for free on the Musical Stories playlist on our YouTube channel until the end of 2021. These pilot performance were recorded at nurseries and schools around Sheffield in partnership with Sheffield South East Learning Partnership in April 2021.
We’ve created free resources to accompany each Musical Story, for you to explore with your children before and after each performance.
All of our new Musical Stories were composed by Paul Rissmann and are based on the children’s books:
The Dinosaur Department Store by Lily Murray and Richard Merritt
The Dog Who Could Dig by Jonathan Long and Korky Paul
Mixed by Arree Chung
Mouse and Bear by Kev Payne
Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival
Our pilot performances feature five brilliant musicians; cellist Elliott Bailey, percussionist Emma Crossley, harpist Louise Thomson, clarinetist Jack McNeill and violist Kimi Makino.
We’re grateful to Arts Council England, Sheffield South East Learning Partnership, Sheffield Music Hub, the Sheffield Grammar School Exhibition Foundation and the Freshgate Foundation Trust providing funding for this project.
