Greystones Gigs - Rosie Hood & Robyn Wallace | 10:30

  • The Greystones Greystones Road Sheffield, England, S11 7BS United Kingdom (map)

BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated Rosie Hood (vocals/tenor guitar/baritone ukulele) is a folk singer/songwriter who has performed extensively both solo and in many collaborations, including with her eponymous band and as one-third of The Dovetail Trio. Known for her powerful and clear vocals, Rosie's captivating performances combine her poetic writing with dynamic and honest interpretations of traditional songs.

Rosie will be joined by her The Rosie Hood Band bandmate melodeon-player and percussionist Robyn Wallace. With experience playing for ceilidhs, dancing and in brass bands, Robyn’s playing brings a great dynamic lift and drive to Rosie’s re-working of traditional material, as well as her original songs touching on nature, human struggles, women’s voices and unheard stories.

The Rosie Hood Band self-released their album 'A Seed Of Gold' in November last year with national radio play on BBC Radio 6 Music and the BBC Radio 2 Folk show. The album was described as "elemental" (Mojo Magazine), performed by "a powerhouse of a band" (Folk Radio UK) with Rosie marked out as "a songwriter of note" (RnR).

With songs, dancing, listening as well as bubbles, percussion, props and informal introductions, this is a fun and informal gig for adults and their children aged 0-5 years.
